Leann Murray & Liz Jensen had been running the Woman's Ministry together in their local church for a while before they both started to sense that God wanted them to launch something new...what that new thing was though they had no idea!

In October 2023 after a time of prayer & fasting they went away to Raglan for a few days to seek God on this 'new thing' & Light was born.

At the end of those few days they had a name, twelve ministry divisions, & a slightly overwhelmed feeling at the magnitude of what Light could become.

Using their combined skills of design, marketing, finance, teaching, event coordination & administration they task by task on their days off, between work, family & church commitments, developed the division concepts, bought a domain, set up emails, designed an app, created a website, & kept growing the beginning divisions of Woman of Light & Sound of Light in the background.

In the last months of 2023 emails & domains were secured & the paperwork was started to register as a NZ charity.

By the end of 2024 the charity was registered & set up for tax, the bank account was opened, Woman of Light had monthly meetings & daily devotions running, & Sound of Light was writing & raising money to record it's first songs.  

In 2025 the app & website were created, & content was underway for seminars, teaching, a YouTube channel & more.  Light Prayers was launched with a small intercessory team & Light Testimonies began to be gathered.

In early 2026 Light is running it's first Light Festival, & then we will have our first seminars, & will launch Families of Light, Men of Light, Youth of Light, Children of Light, Light Teaching, & Light Commerce.

Leann has a background in finance, marketing, & administration as well as leadership at board & business levels.

Leann is an Elder in her home church & the co-leader of a growing Woman's Ministry under Woman of Light.

Leann has an interest in end-time prophesy, kingdom finance, personal development, life coaching, & has the gifts of Faith, Teaching, Administration & Leadership.

Leann is a hard worker & not afraid to tackle large projects, & her faithful prayer life has been instrumental in helping develop & grow Light while balancing the tasks with work, family & church commitments.

Leann has two sons in university & is a very proud mum!

Leann is on the roster speaking at her local church community & speaks at conferences & other public meetings too.

Leann is on the Board of Trustee for her local church as the Deputy Chairman & is the Chairman on the Board of Trustee's for Light.

Liz has a background in design, photography, hospitality, new build home consulting & more recently as a pastor.

In her role as a pastor she focused on Woman's Ministry under Woman of Light, Prayer Ministry blending Holy Spirit led Inner Healing with Scriptural based Counsel, Administration & Worship Leading.

Liz is a highly functioning multi-tasker & can manage multiple projects all together which has been instrumental in helping launch Light Ministry while she was working full time in a multifaceted job.

Liz has gifts in Pastoral Care, Teaching, Faith, Administration, Healing, Apostolic Building & Obedience - which she believes is the key to a blessed future & possessing the gates of the enemy!

Liz is a worship leader & song writer, she 'hears songs' in her head & writes out the words, records the melody, & then gets talented musicians to help her create the music to complement the melody.  

Liz is both a Teaching & Inspirational Speaker as well as the Deputy Chairman on the Light Ministry Board and is a Founding Director.

Liz works with woman, couples, families & children (plus occasionally men) in Prayer Ministry helping people heal from childhood wounding & trauma, setting them free to live a prosperous purposeful future.

Liz teaches regularly on a roster at her local church community & speaks at seminars & at other events.

Kit has a background in farming & horticulture as well as church planting, pastoring & almost two decades of work for International Needs NZ both on their Board of Trustees & as an overseas missionary.

His background includes farming, pastoring, helping with missions like smuggling bibles, Farmers for Africa, Full Gospel Stratford, counselling, & more.

Kit & his wife Celia are always helping their local church community & are hands on in their communities helping those in need.

While retired these days he still preaches on rosters supporting local churches and supports International Needs NZ & Light Ministry.

Kit is a great sounding board & wealth of Godly knowledge to the Light Ministry team.  With Liz being his daughter & him being a good farmer he is also good at rounding us up & keeping us on track.

Rebecca is a true worshipper & this is how she expresses her love for God.  She is passionate about what she involves herself in.

Alongside her music & singing skills Rebecca has great admin skills & a heart for people who need healing.

As our Secretary for the Board she also helps with admin for organizing events, & helping with the worship at events.

Rebecca loves hugs & time with people as well as time alone with God.

Rebecca has travelled extensively during her adult life & still believes that New Zealand is the best place in the world.

Hayley is God centered & family focused.  

As a busy wife & home school mum, as well as a part time nurse, Hayley manages to balance everything as only mum's can!

As our Treasurer for the Board Hayley helps with the finances & reporting.

She has a wonderful hospitality gift & is always serving others whether to comfort, support or with food & her caring heart.

Hayley brings an atmosphere of support & care to the team as well as practical help whether in admin, accounts or in the kitchen!

Alongside being Liz's mum & Kit's wife, Celia is also know as a bit of a 'super woman' in operating in her acts of service love language with cooking & hosting.

Celia serves in many places in her community, with programs like 'On the House' & cooking dinner for up to 60 intermediate age youth on a Friday night at her local church.

Celia is an amazing gardener & cook & frequently serves meals with her own home grown vegetables, relishes, jams & more.

Celia is a wonderful support to our team & an encourager.

Erin spent most of her life believing she was rejected and unlovable, & due to this in constant fear that if people got to know the 'real her' they wouldn't like her.

But now that she has found the healing grace of God her desire is to help break chains off other peoples lives & see people (in particular woman) who were like her come into healing & have their identity restored & with a firm foundation in Christ.

Erin is a wife, a mother to a teenage boy, & a true prayer warrior.

Erin heads up our intercession team, shares her testimony at events, is part of our Altar Call Prayer Team & covers our people and our ministry in prayer.

Ange is everyone's favourite aunty!  She looks after us, serves, supports & is a blessing to our team & ministry.

Ange has many years experience running the main auditorium for services & events, in making people feel welcome, & in playing her guitar.

God has healed many childhood wounds in Ange's life through Healing Prayer Ministry & her heart is for many more Maori woman to come into freedom & healing as she has.

Ange loves to laugh & bring joy to us all by making us laugh too.

Ange is a great supporter & helper among our team.
